Painters Balmoral

Balmoral is one of Brisbane’s inner-east character suburbs on the ridge above Bulimba Creek, with housing stock dominated by Queenslanders and workers’ cottages — most pre-1940 — plus a handful of newer contemporary rebuilds on the elevated blocks with river views. Property values are strong, and the paint spec our Balmoral clients expect is premium — Dulux, Haymes, or Porter’s, not budget lines.

The paint problems we see most in Balmoral are weathered exterior weatherboards on the west-facing walls (that late-afternoon river-reflected UV), lead-paint on pre-1970 homes (we test and safely remove under Queensland WHS rules), and interior VJ walls that need careful edge cutting where old paint layers have built up unevenly over decades.

Colour choice matters more here than most suburbs — heritage overlay considerations apply on some streets, and neighbours will notice. We work with the client on a colour scheme walk-through before topcoat rather than after.
